A painterly approach

It's said that the painter Agnes Martin wouldn't begin a day of painting until she received at least one inspiration. She'd either stay in bed or make some toast or do some household chore, until an inspiration came to her and she'd begin a new project or end one already begun.

I'm not sure what inspiration meant to Agnes Martin, but I understand the thinking.

I wait for inspiration in my own way, pushing the earbuds so deeply into my ears that they cast at least a little  light on what I'm seeing.
