Democracy Unplugged

If things are unplugged they're usually all right, they won't cause a fire that burns everything down.

The Red States need to accept the Blue States and the Blue States the Red States.

But will they?

No. There needs to be a filibuster.

A filibuster is an immature expression of entrenched misinformation posing as enlightened ideology. Men who filibuster wear suits and ties and have either taught Sunday School or read Ayn Rand, or both. That they're not all men, that there are women as well men who filibuster, is a remarkable fact.

Tonight, I've unplugged the wall heater, decided not to renew my cable tv/internet/phone provider, (the bundler), and taken myself off Facebook. I've done all these things in the name of democracy.

I thought, if I think like this I can do these things; to think this way and to do these things is my right as a citizen.

If I think like this and do these things I'll be a better citizen and give democracy a chance, in much the same way I gave peace a chance many years ago.
